Smart Cities

ZTE is making cities smarter through the application of smart connectivity, information technology, and deep data analytics. As cities around the world develop and grow, urban construction philosophy and methodologies evolve. ZTE seized this opportunity and is leading the way in the development and deployment of Smart City solutions worldwide. As of today, ZTE has deployed 140+ Smart Cities in 40+ countries around the world, including services such as Safe City, Smart Parking, Smart Street Lighting, Water Monitoring, Smart Electricity Meterse-Health, Smart Education and Smart Tourism etc.

Connected Vehicles

ZTE solutions and modules serve 750,000+ vehicles on road in four countries, delivered to end users in collaboration with more than 20+ partners, including Toyota, Geely, Mojio, T-Mobile, AT&T, and TeliaSonera. Available Connected Vehicle services include On Board Diagnostics, WiFi Hotspots, T-BOX, and others.

Smart Homes

ZTE Life, the ZTE Smart Home solution, serves millions of families through seven telecom operators, including China Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Sichuan Telecom, Jiang Su Telecom, and China Unicom. Additionally, ZTE is developing a new market in the USA and has already set up relationships with partners to provide local service. The ZTE Life Smart Home solution consists of a cloud-based platform, smart gateway, smart devices, and a smartphone app. ZTE has 40% market share of China Telecom Connected Home products and solutions.

Industrial Internet

ZTE serves 20+ Electricity Companies by providing more than 20,000 PON products and cooperates with more than 10 companies by providing them Smart Metering solutions.


ZTE is actively working on NB-IoT pilots and network deployment partnerships with MTN in South Africa, Softbank in Japan, H3A in Austria, AIS in Thailand, and Telkomsel in Indonesia. The NB-IoT network ZTE deployed for China Mobile has already been launched commercially in Wuzhen, China. Additionally, ZTE has already completed the shipment of a Henan NB-IoT pilot for China Telecom. First IoT Service is On air in Nov. and so China telecom start other 7 provinces IoT pilot at the same time.

IoT Platform

ZTE is expanding its strategic collaboration with Telefonica, MTN, and China Mobile to further the development of its Smart IoT Platform, related applications and services. More than 3 million SIM cards have been connected to the IoT Platform ZTE developed for China Mobile. In addition, the ZTE Smart IoT Platform has been deployed in a 1+1 backup configuration in South Africa and Dubai, to monitor vehicles and electric meters, and deliver Smart Home services for 21 subsidiaries of MTN.
